IT Infrastructure Review
A structured review of your hardware, cloud, security, and services, carried out by senior engineers. Clear findings, prioritised recommendations, and a written report you can act on.
What Is an IT Infrastructure Review?
An IT infrastructure review, sometimes called an IT audit or IT assessment, is a structured assessment of your IT environment, carried out by our senior engineers. Here’s what that means in practice.
A Clear Picture of What You Have
We document the systems your business depends on, including the hardware on-site, the cloud services in use, and the connections between them. Many organisations have not had this written down in one place for some time.
An Honest View of How It’s Performing
We assess each area against current best practice and your business requirements. Findings are presented plainly, with the criticality of each issue stated so you can see what needs attention now and what can wait.
Practical, Prioritised Recommendations
Where issues are identified, we set out what to do about them. Recommendations are ranked by importance and written so both technical and non-technical readers can follow the reasoning.
A Report You Keep, Whatever You Decide Next
The report is yours. You can act on it with your existing provider, share it with your board, or commission us to implement the recommendations. The IT infrastructure review is independent of any follow-up work.
“Platform 365 provide consultancy and operational infrastructure / desktop support to PLRE’s global business. Their approach is flexible in that they are able to tailor their services to exactly match our requirements and their staff are always willing to help out if problems occur.
“They work with us as a partner rather than a service provider, adding value to our IT and business initiatives. Most importantly they understand that time is money, and that supporting the IT needs of a business is about more than just resolving a help desk ticket.”

“We are into our third year working with Platform 365 with a mixture of remote and on-premises support, an arrangement which works very well.
They are always polite and highly professional. Moreover, the guys there are incredibly responsive to requests for extra and more specialised help.
More than once they’ve dropped everything to come into our offices to assist us work through an urgent issue. Highly recommended.”

What’s Covered
The review priced from £1,350, covers your full IT environment, grouped into four areas:
Core Infrastructure
Firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, cabling, and on-premises servers.
Cloud Services
Microsoft 365 and related cloud services, including licensing, security, email, and file sharing.
End-User Devices
Desktops, laptops, and printers, including security posture and device management.
Network Services
The underlying directory services, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
What You Receive
At the end of the IT assessment, you receive a written report, prepared and signed off by Platform 365. It includes:
- An executive summary written for non-technical readers
- A high-level inventory of your existing infrastructure
- Identified issues and risks, with the criticality of each clearly stated
- Prioritised recommendations, ranked by importance
- A walkthrough call to take you through the findings and answer questions
The report is yours to keep. You can share it internally, use it to brief a third party, or commission us to act on the recommendations. There is no obligation either way.
How It Works
1. Discovery
A short scoping call to understand your environment, your concerns, and the access we will need.
2. Assessment
Our engineers carry out the review on-site and remotely, with minimal disruption to your team.
3. Report and Walkthrough
We deliver the written report and walk you through it, explaining the findings and answering your questions.
Who Commissions a Review
Most reviews are prompted by one of the following:
- Something has happened. An outage, a near-miss, a security incident, or a change of provider.
- A change is coming. Growth, an office move, an acquisition, or a major system migration.
- A new leader has joined. You are new to the role and want a clear picture of what you have inherited.
- You want reassurance. Your IT works, but you want confirmation that nothing critical is being missed.
Book a Discovery Call
A 30-minute call with one of our senior team to discuss your environment, talk through what a review would cover for you, and confirm whether it is the right fit. There is no obligation. The conversation itself is useful regardless of what you decide next.
FAQs
How long does the IT infrastructure review take?
Typically two to three weeks from the discovery call to the walkthrough. Most of that time is ours, not yours.
How disruptive is it for our team?
Very little. We need a scoping call, access to your systems, and short conversations with whoever knows your IT best. Day-to-day work carries on as normal.
What does it cost?
Pricing starts from £1,350, depending on the size and complexity of your environment. As with an IT audit, scope drives cost, so we confirm pricing after the discovery call, before any work begins. No surprises.
Will you try to sell us managed services afterwards?
No. The review is the engagement. If you want help acting on the recommendations, we are happy to talk. If you prefer to take the report to your existing provider, that is a perfectly normal outcome.
