Our journey in IT has taken us from boys to men. The year that saw the birth of the world wide web saw two young hopefuls starting their careers in the realm of IT. Back in 1989 life in IT was definitely different!
As employees of a multinational corporation we honed our skills in the areas of user support and IT infrastructure. It was a wise man who once said that you should cut your teeth in the corporate world before setting up your own business.
We headed up large specialist teams servicing demanding internal clients. It was a process driven environment, there was a procedure for everything! Investment in training and personal development was high. We were able to continuously update our skills, expanding the breadth and depth of our knowledge in the specialist area of IT.
By the time we started our own IT support company, back in 2005, we had a crystal clear vision of the culture we wanted to develop and how we were going to operate. We were confident that we could create an IT support business that would be uncompromising when it came to client satisfaction. A client focused approach to IT support that ran deeper than just words, a company where nothing was too much trouble.
Fast forward 15 years to 2020 and we believe that we have realised our vision – an IT support company that cares, run by a team of skilled “techies” that can actually communicate – welcome to Platform 365.
But, of course, the story doesn’t end there. Even after 30 years we can still get excited by the latest technology, from Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the Internet of Things (IoT) or the newest shiniest gadget (think Lenovo smart clock with Google Assistant). Then there’s the buzz we get when we win a new IT support contract or receive a glowing testimonial from a client. The magic is still there – guess that means IT really is in our DNA!

Although we understand that we are initially just another supplier to our clients, our goal is for them to eventually see us as an extension of their workforce. We realise that everyone is different. Some clients like to have regular meetings to review service and others prefer us to get on with it, on the understanding that the Mark and Rob are only a phone call away if required.

Above all else, having open and collaborative relationships with our clients is essential. We believe that this should work both ways and prefer to know if there is a problem so we can do something about it.
